2010 Chevrolet Equinox At Maxie Price

The all-new Chevrolet Equinox is a wonderful mid-size SUV that offers seating for five passengers, smooth riding, comfort, safety and luxury, all at a relatively low price of entry of $23,185. Now in its second generation, beginning with the 2010 model year, this SUV cross-over has an all-new look and much-improved features.

The front-wheel-drive Chevrolet Equinox LS model begins at the very affordable price of $23,185, and that includes the $745 destination charge. The 2010 Equinox is also be available in mid-level LT and up-level LTZ trim. All-wheel-drive is a line-wide option. Code-named GMT172, the new Equinox also has strong family ties to the Malibu, which was the first model to feature Chevrolet’s new signature front grille design.

The 2010 Chevrolet Equinox comes equipped with a 2.4-liter direct-injection four-cylinder Ecotec engine that delivers 182 horsepower at 6,700 rpm and 172 pound-feet of torque at 4,900 rpm. This SUV is a winner in the fuel efficiency category as well. The entry-level mill promises to deliver an EPA rating of 30 mpg on the highway and 21 in the city. With fuel economy like that, it has even some small sedans beat for fuel efficiency. No surprise from GM, who is very innovative at delivering award-winning vehicles each year.

GM is also offering the new Equinox with a 3.0-liter V6 that delivers 264 horsepower and 214 lb-ft of torque as an optional upgrade. Featuring direct injection, the motor has an isolated fuel injector system that quiets operational noise far better than other DI engines. Rubber isolators are used with the fuel rail to eliminate metal-to-metal contact that would otherwise transmit noise and vibration from the high-pressure fuel system to the inside cabin of the vehicle. GM says that engine will achieve 25 mpg on the highway and 18 mpg in the city.

The interior of the 2010 Chevrolet Equinox has been significantly improved over its predecessor. It carries a consistently designed theme across all of Chevy’s new models, plus seems to reestablish GM’s commitment to building better interior cockpits after years of being defeated by its foreign competitors in material quality and overall finish.

Maxie Price Chevrolet expects to see the 2010 Chevrolet Equinox hit our dealer this summer (2009), and they will most likely be a very hot item, since they fuse the comfort and space of an SUV with the fuel economy and price of a sedan.
